WHAT WE DO
Every year, we organize two fundraising events to support our mission at Friends of Family Planning of Martha's Vineyard. In the spring, we host our annual Lip Sync Contest where Islanders are encouraged to perform for cash prizes. In the fall, we also organize an annual Pig Roast with the help of the Portuguese American Club of Martha's Vineyard and Mo's Lunch.

MONTHLY TIDE
The Monthly Tide, End Period Poverty project supports our mission of offering help to islanders who struggle to afford menstrual product necessities. This project was made possible through community donations and partnerships with Conroy’s Apothecary and Cronigs Market who generously discounted products for this initiative.

ABORTION & VASECTOMY REIMBURSEMENT
This program will reimburse any person up to $1,000 for costs associated with obtaining an abortion or a vasectomy. Costs may include medical procedure charges, co-pays for medication, transportation to and from the appointment, and costs associated with follow-up testing. A request for reimbursement must include receipts from providers, as well as travel, medications, and co-pay expenses. If it is more helpful for the fund to directly pay the provider for the procedure, this can be arranged. PROPERTY OWNERSHIP
Thanks to the generous support of the island community, we own the building at 517 State Road and are the Landlords for the Family Planning, Health Imperatives Clinic. Our continued efforts are to keep the rent low on the space used by the Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic operated by Health Imperatives ($500 per month). Friends’ ability to rent to Health Imperatives for $500 per month saves them $4871.00 per month.
